Custom airbox.
I hear lots of people saying that they dirll holes in there air box and just put in a better filter. This sounds like a cheeper alternative to a cai which run like $250. Any one done this?

Re: Custom airbox.
I tried the hole thing, it didn't do much that I could tell. You'll get more gain if you do your exhaust first with any intake mod. With just a cold air intake you'll actually lose some torque. I did this on my 00 Xtreme when it was new because they changed the exhaust flange that year and no one had an exhaust out for it yet so I had the K&N intake on and before and after drag strip runs it was actually slower by a tenth or two.
