Couple of questions... Rear hatch and taillight Mod

I have an 86 4x4 and the rear hatch button is burnt out. I cant find where the fuse is loacted on the fuse box, if its the fuse thats jacked up or if its something else... I've read the posts about the hatch not being able to be opened but I dont have that problem, I just use my key and turn the tailgate lefer. Any help would be awesome.

I have seen some of you guys put the strip of LED lights for your tail lights. Looks frweaking sweet! Is there a how to post for this? I would like to see what it all entails before I rip into it. Thanks again!
