Re: corvette wheels

I believe all vette wheels will. I know for a fact that c5's and c6's will bolt right up.

Re: corvette wheels

x3

4wd= no spacers required, bolt pattern is the same, 5 lug x 4.75"

2wd= 2.25"-3" spacers depending on particular Gen (C4, 5, or 6) and desired distance from fenderwell.

With a 4wd, would there be any rubbing problems or look dumb, or do they tuck in nicely and just look like nice beg sporty wheels?

On a 4wd, they will bolt up and sit just like a stock wheel. You may have a little rubbing at lock, but it shouldnt be bad at all.

Looks nice but I've only seen pictures on way lowered vehicles. I looked up the actual tire diameter and realized they would look pretty dumb on a stock height 4wd.

a large sidewall tire could be done also. I have seen a couple 4wd's on vette wheels with tall sidewalls. It actually looks pretty good too. Those were all lifted though. I'm not sure how it would look on a stock height truck.

You could also just go ahead and drop yours.

Re: corvette wheels

here are mine, its a 2wd 4 door, i dont know what the offset for a 4wd is, but my rears are 10.5 inches wide, and i had to use spacers to put mine on, but like they already said, you wont need them on yours. the tire sizes are 245/45/17 in front and 275/40/18 in back. and that is a 3 inch drop all the way around, it looks lower in person than in the picture

Re: corvette wheels

My 96 2 dr blaze is lowered with 3" blocks, extreme leafs, 4wd rear end. ZR1 wheels 17 x 11, with 315 x 35 tire, no rubbing & fits under the fender lip. Frt had to have I think 2.25 spacers to align everything up.

I was curious about putting the C5's on a '98 2WD S10, and would like to know what would be the best spacers to use to keep them as close to sitting like stock as possible... And if there are any kinds of rubbing issues. Did you remove your inner wheel wells?

Just stuff I'm looking to know before I finally get them on and discover a problem...

Thanks, Josh

2.25-2.5" spacers and you will be fine. You shouldnt have any issues with rubbing except maybe a little at full lock.

Re: corvette wheels

OK, this is what has me confused. Elsewhere someone posted that their 235/75/15s on the front of a 2wd would rub at full lock. My 225s do not. These are only about 8.5" wide, so I'm trying to figure out how a tire that is nearly 3" wider is only rubbing "a little" at full lock???

Perhaps they did something to their truck because it makes no sense that stock 4wd vehicles would have 235s up front and have no problem with clearance but a 2wd would.

The other part that sucks is that tires for a 17 or 18 corvette rim that are the same dia as OE seem to be very very limited and cost a ton.

Re: corvette wheels

I had 235-75X15 for a while on my 2 wd Blazer and there was a slight rub at full lock. The stock 235-70X15 do not rub.

A 235/75 is very tall and I would imagine it was rubbing on the top of the inner fender. A wider, but lower profile will not have rubbing problems in the same place. They will most likely rub on the frame rail.

Then my next questions would be:
- Where can I get them from?
- Are they a reputable company?
- And lastly, How Much $$$?

And with a spacer that wide, how much of a risk IS there at snapping lug bolts from being extended so much? This is the downfall I was advised of when starting to inquire about these at my normal speed shop...

Agagin, any and all insight is helpfull right now, as it'll help me along the way with this part of the demon project!!!

Thanks again,
Josh

The 235-75's were rubbing on the frame rail, at the front IIRC.

Re: corvette wheels

not sure about price or where to get the spacers from or the price tag on them because I have never used them.

The spacers I have seen though bolt up to the stock lugs, then have a seperate set of lugs to bolt the wheels to. I think it would be a good idea to put some stronger lugs in, but I honestly dont know if it would really make a difference.
