chunky dirt/sludge in coolant system?
Is it a busted head gasket? Theres more of a coolant loss than oil and it looks like neither are mixing. When this chunky crap dries, it crumbles like dirt does. Exactly like clay.
Gets to the worst of it all around mid summer. Then I flush like a stubborn turd that won't flush lol Pull off heater core hoses and shoot garden hose water through and clear it out. Stick the hose into the radiator and let it all drain out. It's always had dexcool till this recent summer. I added regular green stuff...like there is any warranty on a used car anyways...and I think the sludge may end up being a baby-shit green this summer. What can all this be caused by? There was a busted heater core line from the water pump that snakes around the intake in a brilliant manner, but, if anything, that would clear it up. I don't drive it, so I cannot say for sure if it was over heated, but it is very possible, unlikely though. Cliffs: sludge clear-up time takes about an hour same time every year, but no leaks and no oil loss. |

Get rid of the dexcool and never use it again. You could talk to a lawyer but be prepared to stand in line.

when you added the green stuff to dex-cool, you created a wonderful substance known as dex-jello. Flush it out, replace with regular green. make sure you flush it out of the entire cooling system... heater core, block, and radiator.

Get rid of the dex-cool. I flushed mine 2 times to get rid of it and replaced with green antifreeze. Unfortunately it was too late. I had to replace my water neck, radiator and upper and lower radiator hoses along with both heater hoses. Cost me around $350 this past weekend. Luckily the radiator comes out pretty easily.

Crap, so this sludge must be from the dex-gay stuff. It was never mixed. I flushed the block and radiator around 15 times lol (let warm, pop off lower rad hose, refill and repeat).
I'll see how it is next go-around. Thanks much! |
