can't fold down rear seat/96 4dr

i cant get my rear seat to fold down in my 96 4dr jimmy, its a split seat, i can get the small side to fold down no problem, but the larger side will not move...i pull the handle and you can feel and see the latch release(under seat). but the seat will still not move, i tried to push on the latch more thinking maybe the cable was stretched, but it still didnt help....anyone else have this problem?

sometimes mine i have to hit the top back some to get it to pop loose. when was the last time it moved, maybe its rusted in the latch or hinges.

If the cable is not broken, play around by moving the seat. I have a similiar problem with my Jimmy. I usually have to push back on the seat, pull handle, then push seat forward.
