Broke the darn mirror.

I can't believe the freaking entire mirror came off just by bumping it with my curb side trash can!! All three plastic bolts pins broke. Now I have to remove the door panel just to get the screws out and install a new mirror. To top it off, I need to install both sides so they match.

Okay, so why not upgrade. My 96 Jimmy has manual mirrors. I can buy power mirrors off ebay for a nice price. I don't need the adjustment stuff. I just want the foldling option. Can I install a switch to fold the two mirrors? Has anyone upgraded to power windows? It the wiring harness a big problem?

Re: Broke the darn mirror.

I assumed GM made power folding mirrors. The mirrors are option on other vehicles. I guess if they did not make electrical folding mirrors then I have no choice but to reinstall some manual mirrors.

Re: Broke the darn mirror.

Why have Power Folding Mirrors I mean do you expect to go down tight alleys or somthin. Just by some aftermarket Manual Mirrors. That way they will spring back if you decided to hit a trash can again. Ebay has them all time for like $9 plus shipping hell they even have led blinkers in them if ya wanna go that route

Re: Broke the darn mirror.

I think some of you are talking about folding mirrors with power and others are talking about mirrors that fold under there own power. The first style is quite common on s10s, the second style I don't think exists.

No you don't. And NO GM does not make them for S-trucks.

You have power mirrors that can be folded. NOT power folding mirrors. Your mirrors do NOT fold with the push of a button.

I am sorry, I misunderstood the question. You are correct, I have power mirrors that can be folded. Next time I will read between the lines for the exact meaning of a post before I reply. Thanks for the nice welcome to the forum.

Re: Broke the darn mirror.

I bought a left and right mirror set off ebay. My Jimmy looks very nice with a new matching set of mirrors.

I'm still curious if GM Denali and Cadillac power folding mirrors will fit. I would like the power folding option for several reasons. 1. I'm a graduate student. Other students can't seem to get around large mirrors so they fold them in the opposite direction. The other students seem to like driving small @$$ cars and such. 2. I attend a different university from UT. Students seem to like folding my mirrors just because they see a different school parking tag. 3. I would like to fit my Jimmy in the garage next to my 1983 Chevy SWB tire shreader.
