bravada Q
did thy make any bravada in an awd platform... i wanna make my 00 jimmy awd but am having trouble finding a transfer case to work with... my plan is to change it to all wheel drive then lower it about 2-3 inches and then throw a twin turbo setup on it... kinda crazy thinkin but if i can get across the first hurdle the next 2 are easy...

Re: bravada Q
Twin turbo? seriously. i dont think you have any clue what goes into makin that setup work. You better invest in the internals of that 4.3 or there is gona be some parts floating around inside after the first few runs.
Your way better off putting an Ls1 in it. Good luck on the project. Last edited by Woody22 : 12-02-2008 at 02:24 AM. Reason: dee da dee |

Re: bravada Q
All Bravadas as far as I know are AWD. Well, they are actually 2wd with auto 4wd and limited slip rear ends. They have a different RPO code than the Blazers and Jimmy's with the auto 4wd buttons, but the transfer case may be tthe same. (would need the correct computer and TCCM.)

Re: bravada Q
for the amount of money you would be spending on this project, your better off finding a used Typhoon or Cyclone with some miles on it. I love it when people randomly come on here and post their wetdreams like they have the Benjis & time to do it over night. Waste of E-space if you ask me.

Re: bravada Q
No offense, but unless you are getting several million as the settlement, wasting your money foolishly is a pretty dumb amateur move.
You would be best served buying a Bravada, taking the grill out and popping in a GMC grill because they look so much better and then doing the engine work. Besides, the Bravada will already have all the wiring done and all parts will be intact. It will also have all leather inside and all the goodies available on a truck that year. |

Give the guy a break he may impress you, if everyone didnt have a dream to shoot for or an idea for their truck then this hobby would be boring. |

Re: bravada Q
There were 2 types of Tcase used in the Bravadas (all Bravadas are AWD).
The 1st gen trucks and the first year of the 2nd gens run an all mechanical AWD box, same one that is in the Syclone & Typhoon. Since its strictly mechanical, its an easier swap into something that doesn't have the electronic provisions. The later 2nd gen trucks (starting in '97) are the auto-trac trucks. They use a different tcase (NV136). Basically this is a single speed version of the NV236. The controls sense (from wheel sensors) slippage and drop in the clutch to engage the front axle. So, differences from your Jimmy include the pass side front axle (no disconnect on a Bravada). I'm pretty sure the Transfer Case Control Module is different (although Jimmy's were available with AWD as an option. And as far as your twin turbo dreams go. Think long and hard about what you want to do there. The Sy & Ty guys know how much fun it is to build a 4.3 V6 to hold up to any boost. The parts are available, but they are not cheap. An LSx swap isn't much better, cost-wise (ask me how I know). http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2547643 'JustDreamin' |

Re: bravada Q
a man can dream... im more spontanios then one may think.. after reading a few of these i think i may just ditch the jimmy idea and build my 00 dakota up... i jsut got it a few days ago and wasnt sure what i was gonna do wiht it... i think the twin turbo would work alot better on the dakota anyway.. its already got the 5.9 r/t in it so its already go tthe balls but i always want something better... the jimmy was just something i thought about that night while i was one here after looking for the twin turbo kit... they make it and it is supposed to handle 700+ hp but my motor alreday has 40k on it so i dont feel like rebuilding it again
