brakes knocking....
I own an 04 blazer 2WD and recently changed the brake pads on the blazer. Rotors were fine on the front, so I replaced the rotors on the back. Now, I'm hearing this constant knock noise when I'm hitting my brakes, and this knock is only coming from the front driver's side. I know it has something to do with my brakes, considering it never did this before. Any advice would be appreciated. Anybody else experience this situation?

Re: brakes knocking....
Most often a noise like that happens when the pad is allowed to move/rattle while in the caliper. Make sure the hold downs are there and in place. Also, I don't know about 04 pads, but the S-10 standard for many years had tabs on the pad that had to be smacked with a hammer and bent into the caliper to keep from moving. Just something to look for. (and make sure you tightened the bolts all up.)

Re: brakes knocking....
i believe that the caliper bolts that are also the slides have a rubber bushing inside the bracket that may be worn.

Re: brakes knocking....
how did you decide your front rotors were good?
maybe they need to get turned? |
