blower motor/blower cover

Sooo when i change the blower motor i gotta cut a bunch to get it out..Do i need to reseall all those cut parts or can i jsut leave it all open soo that i can see the motor..Is the outter cover just a cover to protect cuz mines sooo brittle thanks for you timee

Ok thanks i was just worried it suck air in.but i guess thats just a cover to protect
