Re: Blazer with 2.2l engine

*friction + weight.

funny thing you mention that, i just replaced mine TWO days ago in my blazer.

* Friction

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

For other uses, see Friction (disambiguation).

Force diagram for block on ground.
Arrows are vectors indicating directions and magnitudes of forces.
W is the force of weight, N is the normal force, F is an applied force of unidentified type, and Ff is the force of kinetic friction which is equal to the coefficient of kinetic friction times the normal force.
Since the magnitude of the applied force is greater than the magnitude of the force of kinetic friction opposing it, the block is moving to the left.

Friction is the force resisting the relative lateral (tangential) motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, or material elements in contact. It is usually subdivided into several varieties:
  • Dry friction resists relative lateral motion of two solid surfaces in contact. Dry friction is also subdivided into static friction between non-moving surfaces, and kinetic friction (sometimes called sliding friction or dynamic friction) between moving surfaces.
  • Lubricated friction[1] or fluid friction[2][3] resists relative lateral motion of two solid surfaces separated by a layer of gas or liquid.
  • Fluid friction is also used to describe the friction between layers within a fluid that are moving relative to each other.[4][5]
  • Skin friction is a component of drag, the force resisting the motion of a solid body through a fluid.
  • Internal friction is the force resisting motion between the elements making up a solid material while it undergoes deformation.[5]
Friction is not a fundamental force, as it is derived from electromagnetic force between charged particles, including electrons, protons, atoms, and molecules, and so cannot be calculated from first principles, but instead must be found empirically.
When contacting surfaces move relative to each other, the friction between the two surfaces converts kinetic energy into thermal energy, or heat.
Contrary to earlier explanations, kinetic friction is now understood not to be caused by surface roughness but by chemical bonding between the surfaces.
[6] Surface roughness and contact area, however, do affect kinetic friction for micro- and nano-scale objects where surface area forces dominate inertial forces.
[7]
Friction is distinct from traction.
Surface area does not affect friction significantly because as contact area increases, force per unit area decreases.
In traction, however, surface area is important.

Re: Blazer with 2.2l engine

I'm pretty sure you could special order the 2.2 in the blazer. The 4L60E would be the automatic that came with it, and the 5 speed would be what ever comes on the s10 2.2.

Just take them out, naw it's from people leaning on the doors plus the doors weight from what I've heard. Try replacing the door roller pin, that's a bitch.

I have never heard/seen that and don't think that you would be able to special order that, if that's the case the you would have been able to special order a 99-06 fullsize with an 8.1L w/ a T56.

So no.

the door pins aint to bad to replace... its getting that stupid spring back in that is a pain... both my driver and passenger side dont have them in cause the pins went bad twice in less then a year... the second time i didnt even bother and its been like that for 7 months now... if i need to keep the door for an extended amount of time i just move the pin so it hold the door open..

Are you talking to me? Are we talking about the same thing? The thing I'm talking about is pressed into the hinges and the little bracket the spring pushes up against is part of the roller pin, you pretty much have to take the door off to get to it.

Re: Blazer with 2.2l engine

The Pythagorean Theorem was one of the earliest theorems known to ancient civilizations. This famous theorem is named for the Greek mathematician and philosopher, Pythagoras. Pythagoras founded the Pythagorean School of Mathematics in Cortona, a Greek seaport in Southern Italy. He is credited with many contributions to mathematics although some of them may have actually been the work of his students.

The Pythagorean Theorem is Pythagoras' most famous mathematical contribution. According to legend, Pythagoras was so happy when he discovered the theorem that he offered a sacrifice of oxen. The later discovery that the square root of 2 is irrational and therefore, cannot be expressed as a ratio of two integers, greatly troubled Pythagoras and his followers. They were devout in their belief that any two lengths were integral multiples of some unit length. Many attempts were made to suppress the knowledge that the square root of 2 is irrational. It is even said that the man who divulged the secret was drowned at sea.

The Pythagorean Theorem is a statement about triangles containing a right angle. The Pythagorean Theorem states that:

"The area of the square built upon the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares upon the remaining sides."
