Blazer two or four door.
Hi all I have been over in the ZR2 section I was goint to buy a ZR2 but it's just not going to work out with the seating for me.So I have started looking at the Blazers and Jimmies. Is there one that you guys prefere over the other 2dr 4dr auto standard one year better than the other???What are you getting for fuel mieage?? What ever I buy will be the V6. I have found two nice Jimmies one a Black fully loaded 2003 Auto for about $6000 CND with about 50,000 miles and the other is a 5spd 2005 with about 35,000 mies for about $7000 CND .I would suspect that the two door 5spd v6 jimmy would be the best on gas ??? How are the others and what should I look for with the Blazes and Jimmies? Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks! |

Re: Blazer two or four door.
4dr 98+ I like 2drs too, but they're harder to get in/out of the back seat and I don't THINK they have as much cargo space once the seats are folded down.
I'm getting a little over 21mpg, but that's mainly due to my exhaust, intake, and drop. BTW a 4wd won't get nearly as good mpg as a 2wd. |

Re: Blazer two or four door.
All of them are v6's. 5spds are very hard to find and would be better on gas. Mine does 24mpg highway.
Obviously go for the 4 door if the room is a big thing for you. |

Re: Blazer two or four door.
96 Jimmy with only a few upgrades. PCM tune, FI spider upgrade, cold air intake, 29" tires. Nothing fancy.
16-17 MPG city, 23+ on highway, 20 MPG at 80! 4.3 auto, four door. |

Re: Blazer two or four door.
2drs seat only 4, while the 4drs seat 5. and the 2drs have like 1/3 less cargo.

Re: Blazer two or four door.
I don't have any upgrades on my 1996 4 door blazer and I get 15 miles per gallon in the city which sucks but I do get 20 on hwy which is a plus. But I wouldn't trade my 4 door for anything.

Re: Blazer two or four door.
with a tune, intake, exhuast, injector swap, port job, and a few other mods im getting average of 25mpg in my jimmy,... its a 4dr 4x4 and im running a 2 inch lift and 31s... and im hard on the gas pedal as well.. but it may have somehing to do with my motor coming out of a safari van... it seems to have alot more power then most of my buddies with blazers,s10s, etc... they where surprised when they drove my truck at first... they said its definitly got more power in the seat of the pants dept...

Re: Blazer two or four door.
I have a stock 4dr Blazer LT 4X4 and I get 17.5mpg combined. If seating is your only concern with the ZR2 then a 4 door is the only way to go for you... there isn't a difference in seating between a ZR2 Blazer and a standard 2 door Blazer.
