Blazer tailgate Question

ive seen a few blazers with an handle on the outside of tailgate, my question is do these tailgate open upward - not like a pick up truck or my 2 door blazer were the glass opens seperately from the gate. not that important just wondering.

yeah some of them had liftgates where it was all one piece instaed of tghe seperate glass and tailgate, i've only seen them on 4 doors though

thats what i was thinkin,
now i wonder what the structure difference is. i like the extra rain/sun protection of the full lift gates( you know for the whole 10 days a year it rains out here) plus u can do some cool stuff with the panel, and dont have to worry (as much) about fvckin it up.
