Blazer Hybrid **Waring lots of Pics**

Well I'm tired of my failing s-10 chassis, it has 191k on the original 4.3L if thats believable to anyone!!! 4 transmissions but original motor. As it sits now, the front torsion bars are sagged, the rear springs are shot. I have a sneaking suspicion that the A-arm bushings are gone and the rear spring bushings aren't far behind.

SO... this leads me to where I am today. about a year ago I happend across a guy that had a 1976 K5 and a 1988 3/4 or 1 ton suburban. He was packing his shit and leaving MI for TN and needed to get rid of the extra stuff. I got both trucks for $400. The suburban I drove home, everything worked and the body is...ok it looks slightly better then the standard suburban from 88. The K5 was shot, the body was rusted to hell, rockers falling out, drivers chair almost fell through the floor when I sat on it...the usually K5.

So the body disappeared, the good thing about this K5 is it has a 400ci small block and Dana 44 front with the GM Corp. 12 bolt rear. The front already has Warn hubs to get rid if the full time 4wd, the X-fer case still has not been converted but I'm changing it anyway along with the TH350 trans thats in it.

As it sits now, if all my research is correct, my 95 blazer body should fit the K5 frame almost perfect. The hump in the K5 frame is an inch less then the S-10. the Wheelbase matches within a 1/4in of my 4dr and I have seen a million pickups put on K5 chassis so I'm sure it can be done. The K5 frame is 9 inches more NARROW then the S-10's so that'll be good. Just fab body mounts and were good.

I'm hoping to get this project off the ground this summer, not sure when its going to be done but hopefully I can at least start preparing the K5 chassis since it is pretty rusty.

Well just thought I would get a thread going, probably won't be updated too often til summer but I want to see what you guys think. heres some pictures of the K5 and a few of my truck.

Re: Blazer Hybrid **Waring lots of Pics**

running the 400sbc from the K5, hoping to find a manual trans to run instead of a 700r4 that I have now. I have a different 700r4 from a 92 suburban not the one from the S-10. I know that wont work.
