I'll take my chances in a newer blazer anyday over a caviler, metro, neon, any of that shit, or even older first gen trucks

statistical poop. its probably #1 in amount of people died in them in a very narrow class (small sized-suv or something). and probably #1 in amount dead in them because its the #1 most driven small SUV those years.

but also, its crap. they said that of the earlier models too. it never amounted to anything

Okay, here is why the articles (and I saw articles, because this is not the first time they did this BS) is flawed:

In General Motors' defense, spokesman Alan Adler said this in the Associated Press article, "The study doesn't really take into account driver behavior or how the vehicles are used so it's difficult to really draw much significance." Which, coincidentally, is pretty much exactly what he said in 2005, when the Blazer was first named the deadliest vehicle on the road.

It has nothing to do with the vehicle itself, but the use of the vehicle.

Basically, more idiots and horrible drivers tend to wreck the Blazers more than any other little SUV. Factor in that the Blazer is one of the cheaper SUV to buy, so that means it gets many first time/newer drivers and teen drivers. Then there's the idiot "raceR Boiz" that try to make this truck F&F, and the xtremes just basically marketed to them morons: "Oooh, gfx and hood stripes, must be fast. And it's got sport suspension, it'll hug the curves" <---morons

It's a damn top heavy truck.

i dont know about this, there is a seller on ebay that sells parts from crashed s10s and blazers (some that have been flipped ) and most of them look like they could still open the door. But all this doesnt matter to me anyways b/c i dont have the money to get a different car/truck if i wanted
