Black Smoke out exhaust....

Well about a month ago I hooked up my blazer to an OBD code reader and it came out as O2 sensor and another code that said misfire detected. Well it was sputtering pretty badly so I took it home and the next day the SES light went off and it ran fine. About a week ago, it started sputtering again and was jerking during acceleration. I replaced the O2 sensor and it ran fine, no SES light. I thought "ok everythings cool." Well today it started doing it again. SES light and jerking during acceleration. I also noticed while in Park I rev it up and black smoke comes out the exhaust and the motor seems shaky. Anyone know what is going on here?

Pull the codes...what are they?

If you get a "lean" code, my guess would be water in the gas or exhaust system. Antifreeze leaking into the cylinders can cause this as well. Most likely source would be leaking intake gaskets and or head gaskets.

No lean code. Just O2 sensor code and a code that said misfire detected.
I replaced the O2 sensor.

Re: Black Smoke out exhaust....

Turns out my Intake manifold is leaking out of 2 areas. Going to cost me about another $200 for that. Looks like my motor is going to be in pieces shortly. Along with my dash so I can get that stupid heater core in finally...
