Best tail light covers

I bought a set from Wade and they fit terribly. Who has what, and could you provide pics?

Just DON'T TINT/SMOKE them out if you plan on driving on public roadways!

Unless, you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY TRUST all the drivers behind you to see your brake lights !!!

I sure as hell DON'T !!

Re: Best tail light covers

Those covers are worse than tinting them most of the time. Plus you don't have to tint them a lot and you can always get LED bulbs that are brighter.

It blows my mind that guys will block light from their trucks taillights apparently trusting in ALL drivers that approach them from behind.

That's just asking to get rear-ended.

Re: Best tail light covers

They both (tinting them and covers) reduce the light and they are both illegal.

All the covers I've seen pretty much fit the same way.

There on Wicked Mayhem's old Blazer. Nick (last name starts with a Z) here on the forum did them. You sand them down and spray them with red candy paint.

AVS light covers. They looked decent but were a pain to keep on with that crappy velcro they supply.

Spray. Dont quite look as good and require touch ups every couple of months

You got it. Didn't even have blacked out taillights.

Just wait until YOU get rear ended. I guarantee you that you make your taillights as bright and visible as possible afterwards!

I still can't believe people are stupid enough to TRUST every single driver that drives behind them to see there taillights.

Good luck and see you in the ER (if your lucky and not dead yet).

Re: Best tail light covers

Then why the **** do you drive at all? Quit trusting everyone so damn much and just ****ing walk then. Or do you not trust people that might run into you while walking, too? Many users on here drive with tinted tail lights with no problems. I personally haven't seen one thread about someone that was rearended that had tinted tail lights. When I had mine, they were easily visible at night, no doubt about it. They were just fine during the day too.

Real original, by the way, with the comment about the ER.

How glossy are they and how are they holding up, I wonder how long the will hold up? Only thing I've ever had done was I sanded down stock tails and had them cleared.

I might be interested in having you do my stock ones or those. Only thing I hate about those is that the top lense started melting so I guess I could get LED's instead of incandescent.

Re: Best tail light covers

i haven't seen his blazer in several months, they are fairly glossy i'd say...i haven't heard anything said about them, so i'm sure they are holding up well, or else it would have been mentioned to me...i've had mine in daily driven for a good 4 months or so now..and no issues.

as for the tinted tail visibility issues...this was an old set of tinted tails i ran, before i retinted another set way lighter than this, and this just shows off the visibility, personally if somebody uses this as a crutch to say they rear ended you, they would have probably rear ended you regardless. these quickly got too dark for my tastes, and i grew tired of them...but still...i don't think anyone has much valid reasoning to say they couldn't see brake lights thru something like these.

You really think people are going to ADMIT they did something so STUPID ??

Why take stupid risk with your (and your passengers) lives ?

It's just STUPID choosing VANITY over SAFETY.

It's your choice. Hope you at least have Life Insurance for your loved ones.

Yeah, I'd believe someone would admit to something that stupid. Have you seen half of the posts in the Flame Forum? How is it stupid if I just stated and others have placed photographic evidence of how easy it is to see the tail lights IN THE DAY TIME? I have a son that rides with me often and if I honestly believed that tinting my tail lights would hamper anyone's ability to see them enough to rear end me, I would not have put them on. Just make sure you come to my funeral, I guess.

And to anyone that is getting annoyed with my arguing with him, I promise that this is my last argumentative post about this. lol
