Anybody have the 8 way power seats in a 2 door?

I just got some nice leather ones out of a junkyard yesterday for a great deal but they are out of a 4 door so they dont slide forward or give me any room to get in the back anymore. Im juts curious how the 2 dr ones work and if it would be a PITA to swap out some of the parts with my manual seats to get them to slide.

This is for the 88-94 fullsizes, but on them you can just unbolt the entire bracket from the bottom of the seat(I think it's around 4 10mm bolts) and then put your manual one on the new seat. As far as power goes how many wires does it have and what color? On those there was just a black and orange so they were easy to wire up. Something else to consider is that a lot of times they used the same wiring harness for the LS and LT models and you could have the correct plug for the power seats under the carpet taped to the floor pan.

Nope, mine only had wires for the seatbelt sensor. I already got them all wired and installed today. Heated is so nice. Does the way that you are talking about keep the power? And on the new harness there is about 6 wires. power, switched power(2), seat belt(2), and BCM for the memory. I should have taken some nice pictures so I can compare them myself.

Yeah pics would be nice.

Yeah the way I'm talking about keeps the power.

Shit I just wrote all this and then re-read your post and saw that you now have it all wired up lol.

You might get away with just running power to the two switched power wires. I'm guessing one is for up/down/forward/backward and the other is for the tilt front/back. I couldn't find a wiring diagram on those seats I'm talking about, but generally orange on gm trucks is orange and black ofcourse is ground so I took a car battery I had laying around and just ran some small jumper wires from it to the seat wires to verify that's what they were for. Those only had one power wire because they didn't have tilt.

You can run the memory too I guess, but I have always hated that option and if it's like some I see when you turn the vehicle off the seats goes into a certain position and then when you crank it it goes back into your preset position which would probably wear the motors out quicker.

Yeah, it would be cool if I could get the memory working but I've read that the BCM needs to be flashed for it. Then I could have the one setting be all the way forward so I wouldn't need to readjust the seats every time.

oh I didn't know you had to reajust them every time, I figured it would be the other way around.
