another 4x4 problem
well i just bougth my envoy and yesterday was the 1st time i was going to drive in the snow sleet rain ice storm in jersey so me and my boy leave work and were on the parkway doing about 45mph at the most and my buddy hits the auto4wd and it just flashes and goes back to 2wd so were ****ing around with that the whole ride so we get to my house and we park and try and nothing we did tried something the ownes manile said but still nothing we backed it up about 10-15 ft i pulled it ahead acouple times and still nothing we heard something under the truck moving but i guess it just wasing working
so all that happend was the the auto4wd/4low/4hi light would flash and go back to 2wd and acouple times the light would just turn off and i heard somthing moving under the truck but it would never go into 4wd thanks |

When you heard that "something" moving, did you feel it also? I mean did it make a clunk?

i heard somthing under the front but i didnt feel anything move though and i also heard some clicking from the right side of my dash too
the 2wd light doesnt come one eather anymore |

Check your fuses and connectors to the 4wd computer. Not sure what year you have, but since you have Autotrac, your computer should be at the passenger kick panel.
See my post here earlier: http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f136/4...m-help-285132/ I actually had to dismantle the connector a little bit to get the two power wires and ground wire pulled from it. That allowed me to wire brush their ends. Then I reassembled it with some regular bearing grease on the terminals to help keep the corrosion from coming back. That's been since last summer, and haven't had any problems since. You should also replace all your vacuum lines under the hood. There's one that goes from a solenoid on the firewall to the front axle actuator under the battery, this can give you 4wd LO problems. |

Check and make sure your vaccum acuator is working. Its located under the battery tray.
