Question Air Bar on Blazer?

Can a 2001 Blazer be set up with the Air Bar rear suspension. If so what kind of mods would need to be made so that the Air Bar could fit on it, and which kit would be used? Post pictures of Blazers on with the Air Bar suspension, and how it is set up. And any info you may have on them.

Thanx

Re: Air Bar on Blazer?

if I'm not mistaken, the rear frame of a Blazer is different from an S-10. But since the AirBar doesn't require notching, it may work. It depends on the clamshell bracket and the crossmember it bolts around.

Re: Air Bar on Blazer?

I have been looking around to see if the AirBar would work. I also have a 2001 Blazer 2door 2wd. The only thing I have found to fit is the AirOver Leaf.

Re: Air Bar on Blazer?

I was told when I asked about bagging my blazer was that it needs to be a weld on kit.

Re: Air Bar on Blazer?

yes the airbar could work if you are willing to do some fab work

the lower part will work as is if the distance b/w the front of the spring and the axle location pin is the same as an s10(not sure if it is or not

the upper part of the airbar(the axle part) would have to have a special bracket made to work with the wishbone link, which a tube crossmember and link bar tabs would not be hard to fab up

then the rear of it where the bags and shocks mount would have to be cut and fitted into the blazer frame like a separate crossmember

here is a pic of the airbar on my s10 truck, and then the airrides site, it could be done if you have the skills to customize it and make it fit...kinda expensive to do so though, it would be cheaper to get a suicide doors kit that you already have to do some welding on...i think...depends on what you want to do with it

not the best pic i know, but its all i got

Re: Air Bar on Blazer?

i have a blazer 2dr 2wd layin frame on 20's, the rear frame is alot different then that of an s10, your best bet is to jump on suicide doors.com and order there blazer notch, mines was done before this was offered so mine is made of 2x4 box steel, i have a full custom, suicide doors triangulated 4 link, with a bag over axle system, its a bitch but it works, ill have picks up soon, its in the posses of gettin new rear tubbs, and tubbin the front for the 20" rims
