Air Bags???
No not the important ones that we all love so much, the ones in the damn steering wheel...
I picked up a blazer a while back that was wrecked in the front, the air bag's deployed, and i have a new one to go in already. I tried to start it the other day, and it wont start. Its not getting any spark, to the wires anyways. Does anyone know if there is a safety switch that goes off when the bag is deployed? Will it be automatically shut off when the bag is replaced, or will i have to reset it? Also anyone know just how to replace it? I haven't even looked yet, but if i knew what to look out for it would help. thanks |

Re: Air Bags???
I don't think there is, I've had the airbag fuse out of a 95 Blazer and it ran fine. My grandparents 98 Blazers airbag light comes on every now and again for some reason, but it starts just fine.
It's been awhile, but I THINK you have to unscrew the airbag from the back of the steering wheel and unplug the yellow wire. If it's a 98- and you have the 99+ wheel/bag then all you have to do is change out the wheel for the 99+ style and then solder the 99+ airbag in, that's the way I did mine and the airbag light never came on. I've never tested the bag to see if it works or not though ![]() Just be sure to take the fuse out. |
