Adding a Spare tire mount
Is there any way you can simply bolt up a spare tire hinge thing to the back of a 2001 Blazer that did not come standard with one? I am askin on behalf of my friend. Thanks for any and all help!

Re: Adding a Spare tire mount
i was reading about it and i would say it would be had
the parts where the mount bolts on to the body are re-inforced with extra peices that are connected to the side panels it seems to me like it would be too much work |

Re: Adding a Spare tire mount
uggg....... I wish I could get rid of mine on the back. I just don't want to shave the holes and mess with it all. I would not do it, adds a huge blindspot, and as said above, gm has reinforced the panel where it bolts in. As many of us know, over time, the stock gm reinforcments suck and eventually adds dents of small warps to the metal, not huge, but you can tell

Re: Adding a Spare tire mount
I took mine off, now I have a factory inside mount, but it looks like it's not a perfect bolt up on those that came with tire carriers on the back
