add an OEM Blazer sunroof?

Has anyone added an OEM sunroof from a 98+ Blazer/Bravada/Envoy etc into a Blazer that DIDNT have one from the factory? Did a few searches and found some info, but would still like to see more. Are there provisions built in to the roof panel in non sunroof vehicles to mount the sunroof? How does the sunroof mount exactly?

If there is already a thread, post it up.

Re: add an OEM Blazer sunroof?

ive never heard of it but i think it would be pretty difficult. i think the ones that came in newer blazers were the type that slid back under the roof? if so, im sure the roof structure was specially built for it. if you really want a sunroof, i think the best option would be one of the flip up types.

you'd have to pull your headliner down to check.

my whole factory sunroof assembly and all the hardware will be coming out of my 01 Xtreme blazer sometime soon to make way for a huge sliding ragtop.

here is a few pics of the complete assembly.

Re: add an OEM Blazer sunroof?

im not worried about it fitting, it would be going into the same type of vehicle it came out of, technically. my blaze is a four door.

trilogy, how did that sunroof mount to the roof? i see some tabs on the corners, was that all that holds it on?

Re: add an OEM Blazer sunroof?

I want to swap my blazer to a cheap light manual pop-out, but I have a full-size overhead console and don't know what to do with it, are there overhead consoles for the sunroof models?

there are metal tabs made into the roof stucture that it bolts to.

Re: add an OEM Blazer sunroof?

i've thought about this, but it seems like to much work just for a sunroof.

so if i decide to cut a whole in my roof, it will be for a huge ragtop

Re: add an OEM Blazer sunroof?

i've been seriously considering it, but im still not 100% set on doing it. i dont like the fact that you can stick your hand in them, cut them easily with something sharp, and water can get in

Re: add an OEM Blazer sunroof?

It should be a straight swap. The only hard part would be centering the cut out to line up properly with the roof supports.

Where at on the southside? I grew up in Blue Island.
