Re: abs removal on a 96 blazer..

i removed mine on my 96 s10 back when I had it. it was simple, since my 96 already had a proportioning valve. I didn't have to buy anything....well besides a couple of fittings. It was very simple.

I removed mine when I lost the factory computer. Real easy to do some brake line and a fitting.

Re: abs removal on a 96 blazer..

So I want to remove my ABS as well...here are a couple pictures of what my engine bay looks like

http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/IMG_2498.jpg
I heard so many people using proportining valves...is this what it looks like? or is this just some sort of distribution block

http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/IMG_2499.jpg

http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/IMG_2500.jpg
So basically all I would need to do is cut the lines off the ABS unit and attach to that "proportioning valve"?

Re: abs removal on a 96 blazer..

that first pic you posted is a proportioning valve. and yea, remove the lines from the abs unit, and attach them to the prop valve.

Did your brake light come on or stay on after you removed the ABS

I haven't hooked anything back up yet, I just took EVERYTHING out from the master cylinder down. I'm redoing everything in new after the prop. valve
