ABS braker light and Grinding?

Ok guys on the way into work today going 50MPH no foot on the brake, the ABS light came on and stayed on, no flicker or anything.

I tested the brakes, everything was ok...

So as I pull into the parking lot at work it sounds like I have a flat tire a muffled grinding slash popping sound, so I pull into a spot get out everything look perfect! even the ABS wires... so I am at a loss here, I am going to leave work early and baby it home and tear into it, Any thoughts what might have happened?

Brand new pads all around one week old, rear right new Rotor, that is it.

Always my luck haha.

I think the wheel bearing is going bad it was squealing about 3 months back. But stopped.

Chance it took out the ABS sensor? haha

Well F***

It was the wheel bearing,

Shot to hell,
Got stuck at work after having to jump start it with a buffer battery and home made jumper cables this is the night from hell!! Cost me $30 in extra miles to get AAA to tow it home ... and I have to be back at work at 8am tomorrow and I do not have a day off for the next 15 days F***!

Re: ABS braker light and Grinding?

Yeah I got my 2wd one off ebay over a year ago for like $70 shipped and it had Timken bearings in it. It's been fine, Auto Zone wanted over $200 for one and Napa wanted like $300 I think, 2wd's cost more though.

Re: ABS braker light and Grinding?

FWIW, the link shown to the eBay auction above is indeed Timken bearings. The auction has a parts plus part number. If you go to the parts plus website they will link you to a Timken e-catalog where doing a search will get you that part number.

I just bought a used Bravada and am really thinking about getting a pair of those for future use. The price is just too good.
