Abs brake problems

my grandfathers 98 Jimmy's brakes are actying weird from what ive been told the ABS light goes on and off intermediately and the abs brakes engage at random times? is it a sensor problem,short? something else?

its a 4.3 4wd if it makes any difference

ABS units are sensitive to dirt in the system. When was the last time the fluid was changed??...ever?? I'd go with the easy stuff first before I started throwing cubic dollars at it.

haha i just had this happen to mine about a week ago... turns out the sensor was shot...mine with service and everything came to about $203
