ABS and 4X4 connected???

I am having trouble with my 95 blazer. It is currently in 2wd but the light on the dash is lite up on the 4wd hi button. When I push one of the other buttons, 2wd or 4wd low it blinks for a few seconds then lights up the 4wd hi again. Afriend of mine thinks it is tied to me ABS light being on. Any thoughts or comments? Thanks!

Re: ABS and 4X4 connected???

when my truck wouldn't shift out of 2hi into 4hi, it did the same thing, and it was because a vacuum line on the vacuum switch that engages the front axle was cut, so I would look at those.

mine was cut/unplugged from the vacuum switch above the distributor on the firewall, but the line runs over under the battery on the passenger side if you need to trace it.

Re: ABS and 4X4 connected???

There was a recall for something like that a few years back. On my 96 they replaced the switch and looks like added a different vacum line. It hooks onto a fitting that is mounted next to the coolant resivour. If I remember, it was related to a problem involving the ABS not working when 4x4 was engaged.

Re: ABS and 4X4 connected???

Cool I will look tomorrow. I replace the transmission from a 94 and swaped some parts in the pan. While I was doing this Both me and my friend had our arms wedged behind the distributor at some point so maybe I knocked somthin off! Cool will let you know! THANKS!!!
