Is there anything I can do to make the A/C blow colder air sooner? It takes a good 15 or so minutes before it starts blowing cold air comfortably, by that time I am already at my next destination. Is there something I can clean that may be dirty? I took it in to a mechanic and he said the system is fully charged and all the components are working.

Re: A/C taking a long time to cool?
and the mechanic didn't even point you in the right direction as to what it could be?? The only thing I can think of is it would need to be re-charged, but i guess not.

jmhouston80,
I don't know what kind of weather you cats are getting in Houston, but I can surely bet it's hot! Not as hot as it is here, but I would recommend you take your truck to a better mechanic or to a shop that can physically show you the test(s) they are running and make sure there are no leaks and that your system has been charged properly. My little Sonoma has great a/c and it takes just about 5 minutes to make me turn it down because I'm freezing my ass off. I would get a second opinion. ~M~ |

Re: A/C taking a long time to cool?
if that was mine i would run it for about 10 min then pop the hood and see if the compressor is running and see if its kicking on and off. could be low freeon or even too much freeon, that will cause the air comming out to be warmer or so the guy said that helped me out with my A\C trouble. the temp should drop about 30 degrees F or so what i am told.
