Angry 99 blazer, many problems...

First off hi. Now to the problem, my 99 blazer has around 195,000 miles on it, it has a problem. With that being said i am fed up with this thing. The new problem of the week is that when i go to start it, the motor stumbles over its self and when you give it gas it shakes the whole damn car and when you let up off the gas it shakes the whole damn car. My step father and i (im just 16) just replaced the plugs, plug wires that did nothing. we are trying to check the timing but there is no timing mark no where to been seen, like the arrow ya know. We have this analyzer thing and it tells us a cylinder is misfiring, how? i dont know. Anyone have any idea what the problem is? water in the gas? oh yea the gas gauge doesnt work either...

Check the distributor. Cap and rotor. Maybe that could be the problem? I'm having the same problem with my 96 blazer and I'm hooking up to the diagnostics tonight,

It also might be a vacuum leak or a broken motor mount. Look around for anything suspicious...

Re: 99 blazer, many problems...

I hooked mine up to the diagnostics and the first code said "misfire detected" and the second code said "O2 sensor" or something like that. So hopefully I can change out the O2 sensor and it will run better, because it said it was running lean due to the O2 sensor. So check that out as well.

Re: 99 blazer, many problems...

Just got it out of the shop was 472 to fix... it was the intake seal, causing the cylinders to misfire which lead to the timing being out of line, which burn up the distributor cap... labor is 60.00 hour...wonder how many coffee breaks did this guy take...

Not bad for shop time + parts.

Re: 99 blazer, many problems...

are you kidding me, you got a deal, do the math there... 472/60.00 is only 7.8..

parts taht were most likely replaced were the cap, intake gasket/seal... i am going to guess maybe 50-60 bucks worth of parts... they probably worked about 7 hours on your truck, i think you got a deal..

also you got to keep in mind, they didnt charge you on how many hours the guy actually worked, he may have finished your truck in 4 hours, but the computer says it is supposed to take 7 hours, well your getting charged for 7 hours.. that's how shops work..

I think you are a little low on parts estimate. I paid $50 Fel-Pro intake gaskets alone.
