97 GMC Jimmy WIper Motor?

A guy I work with is having problems with his windshield wipers. Sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. Hes checked the fuse and its fine and when they dont work it makes this sound like the motor is trying to work but its not. I havent heard the sound. He wants to get it figured out soon cuz we having some wet weather here off and on and its going to be going on for the next week. He doesn't want to get stuck without windshield wipers when he needs em. If somebody could give us any info I would greatly appreciate it. Also its a 97 GMC Jimmy 4 door 4.3 V6 Automatic 4x4.

my buddys 98 was doing the same thing...we just went to a junkyard and got a whole new wiper motor and they have worked like new since then

There is a recall on the wiper motor that relates to intermittent function of the wiper motor that is caused by a faulty circuit board. I found out after I replaced mine. Check with GM. It might still be active, but I doubt it.

yerp faulty circuit board, you can get a new one at napa for like 25 bucks

49-300PB pulse board is like $30 at Napa it is way better than a 49-300 wiper motor which is like $90 . I have saved so many people $60 dollars with that part .
