95 Blazer-Fuel Pump replacement options

ok, took off upper intake, did a couple key on test, i didn't see anything leaking or spraying such as a pin hole or anything out of the reg either. really intake was pretty dirty inside all over. only thing i saw pooled up any was some oil where bolts were going through lower intake. so, i really think it's my fuel pump. truck is not starting very well and when checking fuel presure, it will jump up to 60 then bleed off typcially. other times it may hold there.

anyway, with the blazer, has anyone cut a access panel to replace fuel pump, and if so, anyone have any general layout dimension where to cut. it doesn't bother me to cut, i would just like some direction on where it needs to be.

thanks!

drop the tank. it would be much easier than removing carpet, the rear seats, and cutting a hole.
dropping the tank should just be taking the filler neck loose and the 2 bolts holding the straps

Drop the tank. Don't hack your truck up.

And when you buy the pump, make sure you get the right one:
4drs and 2drs each have their own different pump.

try changing your fuel filter first...

dealer screwed me that way... i'll never know if it was the fuelpump/sending unit or just a clogged fuel filter... all i know is it was $1300+ CDN for the fuelpump/sending unit AND FUEL FILTER

Re: 95 Blazer-Fuel Pump replacement options

thanks for the info guys. i was under the truck today replacing a tired starter and looked it over. way easier to drop the tank than what i thought it would be. couldn't beleive how close the pump was to the back of the tank... shouldn't be hard at all.

i am thinking it is the pump...i am posting up another post on this...

thanks!
