93 Jimmy 4x4 shift problem

Im trying to narrow down why my jimmy is stuck in 4x4. It worked fine, then I tried to take it out, and the light would'nt go out. Now the light sometimes goes out, but still the tcase is stuck cause the drive shaft remains locked. It used to move freely when in 2wd. It will not go into low and sometimes the click behind the dash does not happen. I looked at the vacuum deal under the batter, and it is working, so maybe thier is a vacuum line bad to the tcase? It doesn't make that shift noise from the tcase it used too. Any ideas to check? Is thier a fuse, solunoid to check? Also this is my first post, so thanks for any help. Dennis

Re: 93 Jimmy 4x4 shift problem

OK, I crawled under there, and from what I can gather, it is always pulling on vacuum on the front diff engager and the tcase. No matter what the push button does, it is always pulling. I would think it should have no vac when off, thus dissengaing the front and the tcase. Is there a solunoid that switches the vac direction? Whn I push the button, I only hear a clicking in the dash in nuetral, and both the high and low lights both come on. Any thoughts?
