4x4 shifting problem

i just got this blazer monday and and i noticed last night that it was shifting funny. at first it shifted really smooth almost like it wasent shifting.then on my way home today it didnt want to sift out of first till i let out of the gas. at 70 im pushing almost 4000 rpms, if i let off the gas it will go down to 2500 rpms. if i push the gas again wont pull till it gets all the way back up to 4grand again. im confused as hell i got home and there was no trans fuid on the stick filled it up and its still doing it. any ideas let me know
