Can you lower a 4x4 blazer the same way you lower a 2 wheel drive blazer

Torsion keys from belltech for a 3 inch drop in front, or modify the x member to achieve a 5'' like I did. But I'm about to pull my halfshafts so if you're planning on keeping the 4wd functional (which I have no use for since the entire truck is custom) then go with the keys.

what all do you have to do to modify the x member and by giving it the 5" drop would it give me alot of neg. camber. Did you use blocks and leaf springs on the back of the blazer. Do you no what all has to be done to keep the 4x4 drive functional or no.
Thanks

Re: 4x4 blazer

You can go lower and most people wouldnt do it because you will start busting shafts for the 4x4. I would go with the Torsion keys in the front and blocks/leafs in the back or just blocks or you can pull a leaf. With keys you can get 4.5in in the front. My friend just lowered his 4x4 s10 and he is low with the keys, pulled leaf, blocks and air shocks and some small tires. Check out blazinlow.com they will help you a lot with lowering a 4x4 blazer. Also keeping 4x4 functional without it binding cant be lower then 4.5 or 4 inches, I think.

Re: 4x4 blazer

I pulled the bolts out of my Tbars and added 3" drop blocks to the rear and it looked perfect. All 4 tires were tucking about .5" and didnt rub anywhere. I kept the 4wd since I lived in Maine then and the snow. Aside from a slightly bumpier ride it was great. I had to lift it back up though because I got tired of getting stuck in 6" of snow.
