4WD to 2WD Jimmy

Well I blew the 4WD out on my jimmy and I wanna ditch it and change to 2WD and bag and body drop it. What all needs to be done? Can someone give me a slight run over? Thanks!

Re: 4WD to 2WD Jimmy

alot. first of all a 4x4 frame is a lot bigger, so it'll never be as low without major body droppage (like probably 6 inches to lay rocker). Also you'd need
1. transmission
2. crossmembers or fab your own
3. entire front suspension just about if you ever want it to lay out
honestly it'd be a whole lot cheaper and easier to buy a 2wd to start with. Or if you're that attached to your body buy a 2wd frame and suspension and use your body and interior

No the frame isn't a lot bigger on the 2wd but the entire front suspension is differnt. If you didn't want to change the whole frame, you would at least need to cut the front of the frame off then weld a 2wd nose on it. I agree though, cheaper and easier to get a 2wd truck.

BTW what part of the 4wd went out on your jimmy?
