I can only get up to 100mph. Can this be changed?

Re: 2000 Bravada speed limiter/govener

these series of suvs nave the number 1 roll over rating...
narrow wheelbase, high center of gravity...

is it that wise to eliminate the governer?

Re: 2000 Bravada speed limiter/govener

Lucky you...mine stops at 92mph. I'll be picking up a Hypertech just to raise it. What does speed have to do with rolling over? If you're going in a straight line it's not going to just roll over because you were going over 100mph. If you're trying to corner that fast, of course it's gonna roll. You have to know your limits and your vehicle's limits and not drive beyond them. If you're worried about rolling, lower it some!

sending your computer off to get retuned by wait4meperformance would yield better results AND be cheaper than a Hypertech.

Re: 2000 Bravada speed limiter/govener

Cheaper than $180? Cuz I just picked up a used Hypertech for that last night. I wanted it for changing the tire sizes as well as I plan to jump up to probably 30's next year but may still run the stock 235/70/15's for winter. Besides, this is my daily driver. I don't have time to pull the computer and wait for it to get back.

I was thinking the price for a new one, but if you got a good deal on a used one, good for you.

Last time I checked, Wait4MePerformance.com charged $75 to re-tune your PCM or $159 to buy a tuned PCM outright. So, yes, it is cheaper. and AFAIK, re-tunes are free but you have to pay shipping.

Right, but if he already has the Hypertech unit, its a moot point.

Obviously. But others were left to wonder what the answer to his question was.

Then all they would have to do is search. But...now they know, should they read this thread.
