2000 Blazer Keyless
Kinda new here, so howdy all.
I bought this Blazer used, and the window sticker says it was optioned with keyless entry. Well, either the guy who had it before me lost the remotes or someone is mistaken (most likely the former... that guy was a frickin' crackhead). From what I understand, there is a black box under the driver's side dash (under some interior panel, I would assume) that I need to get numbers off to get new remotes. Then what? Go to eBay and match the numbers to what's on the remotes and buy them? Then I would guess that they would need to be reprogrammed... how would I go about doing that? I tried searching it and didn't get all the answers I needed. Thanks much in advance. |

Re: 2000 Blazer Keyless
I would just go for an aftermarket keyless system that comes with its own remote (and an auto starter if you want that too).

Re: 2000 Blazer Keyless
The box is under the panel by the pedals....take the #s off and call the dealer and find out what remote you need ...but it will be cheaper to add keyless....unless you get a deal like i bought mine one ebay for under 20 with 2remotes and the box 55 at the dealer all works great...

Re: 2000 Blazer Keyless
The dealer parts department and Autozone sell replacement remotes. Expect to pay about $75+. You may find cheaper one on ebay. Then after you get the remote, the dealers service department needs to program it, that's another $45 more or less. Basically, youi're looking at $100 more or less for one remote (unless someone cuts you a deal).
You could add an aftermarket alarm with 2 remotes and keyless entry installed for that price. |

Re: 2000 Blazer Keyless
I hope nobody paid a dealer $45 to program a remote when you can easily do it yourself
