1999 s10 2dr blazer. Lock on driver side broken...
I just replaced the pins and bushings on the driver side door.
Now the power locks isn't working. It makes a sound however dosen't move the door switch down. When I manually push the door switch down it it is mushy and springs right back up. If I hold it down the door is locked. It looks like that from the sagging door that there is some damage to the lock mechanism ...although I can't get a clear look at it. Any advice appreciated. |

maybe try cleaning and oiling the latch. look at everything closely to make sure the door panel or something else isnt in the way.

Does anyone know the procedure for removing the rods connecting everything and then replacing this actuator? I think from closing the sagging door I damages it or pushed it off the lock mechanism somehow. |

about the pm that you sent me with removing the mechanism. it should be just the three torx bolts that you see in the door jam to get it all loose. then you will have to pop the rods off of it which isnt too hard.
go ahead an take it out and inspect it if you think the problem is in there. if youve never done it before it will take you a little longer but it really isnt too hard to do. i replied here instead of filling our pm boxes. |
