1998 Blazer?

I am thinking about buying a 1998 Blazer. The person says its loaded and is asking 4800 but says they will take 4200. This will be a daily driver. Just wandering if this sounds like a good deal or not. What are some frequent problems with the Blazers? I searched but couldnt come up with much. I will post more info up later after I have gotten the key to it and know more(odometer, features, etc). Vin is 1GNDT13W5WK160684 if anyone out there has a carfax membership. Any info on this would be great. Thanks

Re: 1998 Blazer?

what's the milage and options on it? thats really whatcha need. also if you need a carfax post "carfax please" as the title in the off topic section and someone will be able to help you out quicker there.

to note, however: I got my 96 Jimmy 4 door 4wd in August of 2004 for $4995 from a Toyota dealership that took it as a trade in. They had it Maryland inspected and also replaced the AC compressor and system cuz it was shot. I got it with 86000 miles. Once I hit 100000 miles common items started needing replacement. Radiator, water pump, starter, alternator, power brake booster. I've now got 123000 miles and havn't replaced a thing in 18000 miles except my oil. 21mpg I get but I've modified my exhaust and intake. 19 it's rated for I think.

Can't really think of many common problems though besides the usual that happens to vehicles over 100000 miles. The 4.3L is supposed to be good for 200000-250000 miles and its a nice strong engine for the tiny little blazers they pull around.

I think if the blazer you're looking at is in nice condition and the miles arn't way high then it would be a decent deal.

My 98 has been a bit of a lemon..........tons of things have gone wrong - with only 70,000 miles too.

I like the looks of the truck and it has enough power to do anything I ask of it though.

Re: 1998 Blazer?

Turned out the interior looked like a work truck. And it dropped into reverse like it was stuck on an incline.
