1996 Blazer 4x4 ABS Question

ABS light came on and ABS stopped working. I pulled the front wheels and found the wires comming from the wheel sensor rubbed through on the inside of the wheel. I repaired the wires and had a friend check for codes with a Snap-On scanner. It wasnt showing anything. Put it back togther...light still on. Then I replaced that wheel sensor thinking mayeb when it shorted on the wheel it destroyed the sensor. The light is still on . I tried to scan for codes again(this time with a cheap autozone scanner) nothing came up. Light is still on and ABS still not working. Does this need reset somehow once the sensor is replaced? Also could I have took out the ABS controller when the sensor wires shorted to ground? Is there a fuse somewhere for the ABS. Any thoughts/ideas would be much appricitated. Thanks!
