100,000 miles
im about to roll over 100,000 miles and i was wondering what maintenance things i should do/have done. i have had the truck for 15,000 miles and i have done nothing other than changing the oil so i think i will be doing spark plugs and wires (any recommendations?).
Thanks! |

Re: 100,000 miles
if you are going to do a tune up, do a full tune up...
1.Distrib cap, plugs, maybe wires, but they might be ok. 2.Also fuel filter, air filter if needed, pcv. Flush rad and refill, top off all fluids. 3.Check levels in the rear axel, if 4x4, front differential and tranfer case. 4.Lastly, you might want to flush tranny and change filter. Some people think that if it's never been done and have high miles, you should leave it alone unless you have problems, but that's your call. Personally, all the above should be done if you are unsure if if they have ever been done or not.......... |

Re: 100,000 miles
really should flush the rad and change thermostat too, those are things that if never done really need to be

Re: 100,000 miles
It may protect up to 150k miles before it reaches the protection level of plain water, but who wants that. Dexcool has more additives so it protects longer, but still it does get depleted. it takes less than 2 containers and some distilled water.Atleast drain the rad and refill with half and half so you get a partial fluid change.
