02 mirrors on 97

hey, i was wondering if any one has done this mod and what all is needed to swap out the mirrors on a 97 blazer to 02 mirrors

The only thing needed is the proper ratchet to remove the three screws on the back of the mirrors. The bolt pattern on all model years 2nd-gen S-10s is the same.

Oh, and buy yourself a new bag of plastic door trim clips while you're at it. As carefully as you try to remove them , they'll never be right again, and subsequently the door panels will rattle away in true GM fashion. Iirc they're like $7-$8 for a dozen.

If they are powered, I think the connectors are different.

It's been done, just slice the wires and hard-wire them together, if I remember correctly.

There was a thread about them, I don't recall where though. I perfer the 97 style over the newer ones myself.

yeah i thought about splicing them but i don't know...i was just trying to get rid of the dumbo looking ones, is all..i like them but just a little to big

Yeah jsut cut the connectors off of your old mirrors and wire them to the new ones. I think the passenger side colors are the same and the driver side are different.

If you wannt get rid of the dumbo mirrors you should get some SS mirrors or something. Even the 98+ mirrors are kinda big.
