01 bravada dome light & gas gauge problem

I have a friend who just bought an 01 bravada, and his dome light won't go out unless you hit the dome override switch and the gas gauge jumps around from like 1/4 tank to full down to 3/4 of a tank. Anyone have an idea why this would be happening. I really haven't looked at any of it myself and told him I would post a message to see if anyone could help. Thanks

If the gas gauge jumps while hes driving, that is normal. My gas gauge goes down if i brake and back up when i accelerate. As for the dome light i really dont know because mine is different(96 bravada here).

Check the pin swithes on side of dash for dome light.

He needs a fuel level sensor kit or just learn to live with it.
