I'm pretty new at this stuff, so any help would be appreciated. I have a great 2001 2dr 2wd Red Blazer (manual) which I've had for two years. I've always been jealous of the way the ZR2s look so I've recently decided that I'd like to put bigger tires on my truck to give it that meaner look. I'll be honest I've tried to do some reaserch but have come up empty and I really dont know where to start. SO I guess I'm asking is what are the steps I need to take to do this and what if any are my options as far as putting bigger tires on it and giving it that mean look. Also if anyone has any pictures of a finished product I'd love to see them. Thanks

Re: 01' 2dr 2wd wheel size upgrade, help
well the zr2's have big black plastic fender flares on them....and if you want those you will need to get a new front bumper and rear quarter panels too, so everything lines up correctly
they also have a few inches of lift as apposed to the stock blazers you could do this by suspension lift, or by doing a body lift another difference is that they have an externally mounted spare tire, if yours is 2wd you probably have your spare in the back on the drivers side, inside the cab then, just go to the tire shop and get some big 32'+ tires on there, and you have the complete look of the ZR2 the cheapest (but hardest) way to do all of this would be to hit junkyards until you find all the pieces you need...all the fender flares and spare tire mount are not going to be cheap out of the dealer either way i hope this helped....if you want to go further in you research, try finding a ZR2 specific forum...or posting in that section on this forum Last edited by blaz1n : 12-18-2004 at 02:14 PM. |

2" body lift, 31x10.5 tires, bushwhacker flares, and a brushguard would give you a somewhat agressive look at not too steep a price...
