Will blazer buckets fit in an s10 that had a bench seat?

Just what the title says...I have a '91 shortbox single cab with a bench seat. Will bucket seats from a mid '80's s10 blazer fit this truck? Are the holes all there? Will they fit at all?

I went from a bench to buckets. Although not blazer buckets, only had to drill a few holes and shim one side. Lots more leg room then I had with the bench.

I took the bench seat out and put seats from an 89 honda accord in my s-15 18 years and 342,000+ (yes you are reading the milage correctly... ) miles ago. The only thing I had to do was cut and shorten the inside bracket and reweld. Very comfey...

Re: Will blazer buckets fit in an s10 that had a bench seat?

hmm nice thread here

i recently rmeoved my bench seat in my 91 to try a couple different buckets, one from a 94 grand am and another from a 95 buick le sabre

and well neither would sit in the truck evne remotely low enough to work and the seat bracket closer to the center of the truck would not sit on the hump of the floor pan there

seems impossible to put buckets in these pickups

i have no clue and see no way how anyone could

i need pics ?

help ?

my bench seat is completely brokena nd collapsed on the driver side and sunken down to almost the floor it is busted up all the springs are broken

need help

thanks

im surprised nobody ever complains about the complete lack of cup holders, i have a b&m megashifter mounted in front of the stock console and i use a 2 foot level to rum across the gap then lean my coffee up agenst that not the best looking solution but it works but then i get a double gulp for the afternoon and it leans to far i have to drive with my hand on it

Yep, I hate the lack of cup holders, I got a center console from a friend along with buckets and the center console cup holder are useless with a 5spd, plus they are not very deep.

Well I dont drink coffee, never though of that. Guess you could use an old soda bottle, haha. I dont really have that hard of a time driving and holding a drink though. It helps to have a good alignment so that when you let go of the wheel to shift that it keeps going straight.

Re: Will blazer buckets fit in an s10 that had a bench seat?

Happy to run into this thread.

I too was thinking of ditching the bench in favor of buckets and was wondering if anyone could tell me about how much extra room you end up with behind the buckets and in between.

I am thinking about building a center console/sub enclosure to fit in the space in between the seats but don't really think it looks like there would be enough room.

Also when ya'll are talking about drilling to make the brackets line up I'm assuming that you mean drilling into the seat brackets so the existing mount on the floor will line up... Correct?

Also, also. Does anyone know if buckets from say an Acura Integra would fit? Or something similar in design? I'm not really feeling the "truck buckets" that come stock in the 10's as there appear to have very little "bucket" to them.

When going from bench to buckets, you need to drill 4 more holes in the floor of the cab. A bench seat has two tracks, one on each side, so the floor has 4 studs in it to bolt the seat to. Bucket seats have two tracks per seat, so the inner tracks do not have a place to mount to. You need to drill these holes and bolt the seat down there.

Using Blazer buckets, the seats sit nice and flat on the floor. Anything else can of course be made to work, but drilling additional holes in the floor and or tracks to reposition things around and maybe even modifying tracks or the floor to get seats to sit flat.

Hope this helps

automotive 101: ANYTHING can work with enough time, money, and effort. however there is a certain amount of each that has to be involved to be efficient and if you scrimp on one, one or both of the others will go up, usually disproportionally
