What's An Average Price For A 1st Gen. S-10

Well I used to have a 2nd gen. S-10 and really miss that truck. I took the time and scrolled through all 60 pages of the 1st gen. S-10's and I have to say they have grown on me and now looking to purchase one soon.

Just wondering what a good price for a 1st gen. I know they span from 1982-1993. Which is a long time imo. Anything I need to look out for with any of the years? I read through the history here. Alot of good info.
http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/s10/history.html

So what would be a good price to pick one up for? Assuming it was in all around good shape.

Any input is appreciated.

I'm just looking to do a static drop or a bolt in notch (still want to keep all of the bed) and a set of zq8's or some coys.

Thanks,
Marc

If you find one and you really want to know what its really worth i suggest going to kbb.com and find the price that way. I paid 1700 for mine and i had to rebuild the whole truck basically, the guy ripped me off. I would say around $2000 for the best, clean, good runnig truck. Anything higher than $2000 is a bad deal, just walk away if he really wants to sell it he will lower his price. Just HAGGLE the guy dont take the first price. Just my .02 cents.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm in Dallas, Tx. area so hopefully not to much rust. I know I can look at nada and kbb, but I know you guys have bought them and know realistically what they are worth.
I know Wicked Mayhem (member) bought his for under 2k and the interior was as perfect as you could want.

Thanks
Marc

Yeah, and since it's not a necessity it will/should be easy to walk away. lol I've been ripped off before, nothing fun about that

Marc.

Blazer's here are cheaper than the S-10's, but need/want the truck bed. Did you give him your #, cause if he sits on it long enough $1,500 will start sounding good.
I know when I want something sold and if I sit longer than 2 weeks, I just want it gone and the price is then super negotiable. lol

800 for my 92.
2 years later: motor is still strong as F, replaced rotted out D fender, P fender, both doors, need to replace the box, and the cab is a bit rusty. just the pass side where the body mount is is rotted. frame is not bad, but everything else runs fine.

900 for my 83.
mint frame, no motor, no tranny, good box/cab/fenders/hood, cab needs a little bit of work on the floor plans.
