Well I scored it 85 S15 77,000 miles $200
Now just to deice to use for parts or fix.
"1985 GMC S-15, 2.8L Automatic/overdrive. Air conditioner, power steering, power break, and only 77,000 miles! Engine lost oil pressure and spun a rod bearing. The engine has been removed for inspection and repair, and is included with purchase. The truck ran and drove very well." ![]() ![]() |

Re: Well I scored it 85 S15 77,000 miles $200
Can't wait to get my hands on it for good.
Hes gotta haul it over and do title n pay. If it looks as good as it does in the pics, Im probably gonna hafta fix it. [didn't want to get to eager to look at stuff and drive up the price.] And it does blend in well my my two other black GMs. Take the 2.8 block out of the Firebird to fix the S15, Take the 350X out of the wagon and put into the Bird, then pick up a good running 455 for the wagon. As with only the bird and the wagon, the swap would of never worked as id end up with only 1 car. [2.8 T5 would of never went into the wagon easy.] but with the S15, I can swap engines around and buy very little and have 2 running cars easy. I love it when a plan comes together ![]() can see the other two http://thirdgenchat.org/mynotch.jpg |

Re: Well I scored it 85 S15 77,000 miles $200
And of course that was a copy from the add about the spun bearing.
The condition of the truck looks like an older gent who barley drove it. Which is what probably caused the problem. The 2.8 in my Firebird is well over 220,000 and moves quiet well. The T5 n stock 3:42s help that. But Im done fed up with the MPFI computer stuff. Just a money pit once it goes funky. Did got 7 years of reliable trans out of it though. [as of now a new ECM that lasted 2 weeks, with now a constant strobe flashing SES light with no cure in sight.] |

Re: Well I scored it 85 S15 77,000 miles $200
Well Im worried now.
Its been a game of phone n email tag dealing with the seller. I finally ogt him on the phone n it sounds like a spazed out punk kid. Maybe just nervous but couldn’t complete one thought. Or member anytihng I said in the emails, like telling and giving him a map to my house. If I made a baseless judgment on all that, id think he was a crack head. Send your wishful thought this way plz. Last edited by 350X : 08-13-2009 at 02:12 PM. |

Good luck with the crack baby. If it were a running truck I would not buy it from that type of person because if he worked on it you inherit his crap work. Be sure to carefuly look for his needles as you clean the truck. |

Re: Well I scored it 85 S15 77,000 miles $200
The town, city, his place n all are upper class people with money and brains in a rural setting. Which means if he’s one of the cool kids he has access to the best of the best of the worst stuff. He is also in college, which just gives even more access.
I’m gonna try to get to talk to the guy who is gonna bring it. Since it all balances on him right now on when it shows up. As is I offered to pay $50 to bring it over, when it would be like $36 by his $1.25mi. Make sure he knows he get $50 and can maybe find out what the deal is, and what he thinks. could just be a skittish kid or one on dope and not the good kind. |

Ok party like its 2011
[ it was 1999 as Y2k we were all suppose to die, so it 2011 now as 2012 is the next dooms day.] Just a young nervous kid calling me sir all the time. Geese I’m not that old dude. But gonna get it tomorrow around 9am. As I had done washed my hands of it kinda. If it was meant to be he would track me down and he did. Plus sneaky bastard I am had his add flagged for spam so no one else could see it. Ohhh I know thats bad, don't ban me. Its like shile biddin on ebay but its not my fault Craig will let any anonymous goof get a add taken down without proof. |

Well my camera phone wouldn't do any better on pics.
Its a Gypsy model too. Any chance there is a place to dowwnload the manual for this truck, free? You can find them all over the place for motorcycles. Im thinking right now that ill do the carb and junk swap into the Firebird and get that set up running well then change the motor over to the S15. I don't want to run into any snags along the way. |

So fomr searching the Gypsy option is just a bit more fancy?
Does have buckets n center console, front spoiler, sliding rear window, factory tinted windows. 3:42 gears which is nice. |

Not sure but I think the Gypsy is just GMC version of the Tahoe. Same package just different name for obvious reasons.

Guess Im gonna hafta spend a whole $10 n order a chiltons
![]() TIll then, what the little round gasket for in the intake gasket pic? http://info.rockauto.com/Fel-Pro/Det...S91022_TOP.jpg The felpro kits cost $7 more as it has that n the other doesn't. rockauto sure does have some cheap prices on parts. Can get a new air dam with the fog light cut outs for only $17 That usually a $50+ part min. Could be used on many cars. Measure them sucker up and sell em to Hondas or what ever owners for triple cost. |

Don't know if it would be on the RPO sheet but maybe the OO told the dealer to put the regular S15 bages on it over the homo ones or no deal
![]() Or even a factory mistake. I know a guy who bought a not a s10 but one level higher from an OO and it was suppose to be a 4.3 truck but they put in a left over 3.4, he still had the papers from GM to have it taken back in and change but he never did it. I used to save the old left over emblems and stick them on my tool bax as well. Never had one with the colors of the homo rainbow though.
OP, I want to see more of the Fire chicken. I like the hatch. Seen them a few times but never really any feedback on how they were. Did it take away from headroom for passengers in the back? |

Re: Well I scored it 85 S15 77,000 miles $200
Though I do keep 1 rear seat bottom installed for a possiable 3rd. Seat behind me is for my 12in sub. Also a ton lighter, the rear looks jacked up now when it use to sit level. You can see lots of pics n junk here http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/v6...-all-over.html So far I have never found one just like it. Same deal though, craigs list ubar deal I snagged up fast. If I knew you could get them airdams so cheap, I may of tired fitting one of them on the back to help hide the underside but the inverted wing has worked out well, it will stay that way for now. But one of them airdams with fog light holes would of done nice to help hide the junk under the car in the rear and give two nice exhaust ports. The rear mounted tach is one of the mods that brings up the most debate but it does it job as intended plus more..... |
