temp/coolent problem
can anyone out there help me. my 91 that i just picked up seems to be running through coolant like its water and i have checked all the hoses but when i got home today from school i looked under the hood and saw that the coolent was on top of my thermostat housing and in the dash i dont have any water/coolent reading it stays down on the 110 line and i know thats not right can anybody help me out with this o its also 2.5L 5-speed if that helps

this is the best i could do the first two are pics of the upper radiator hose and the third is from my coolent tank sorry for the small pics but cant remember hoe to get them in the thread without attaching it

If there is no coolant in the engine there is nothing to touch the sender for the gauge so it will not read anything. Since you saw coolant on the T-stat house check the seal on the T-stat or gasket on the housing and look for it to be cracked and check the hose. Might see some thing if you fill it and let it warm up then hold the throttle to raise the rpm and watch for the leak in that area. If you pull the housing off might as well replace the t-stat as well. |

usually an unidentifiable coolant leak is from the radiator then gets sucked through by the fan and blown all over. where you find it is where it doesn't evaporate as quickly.

well i think i have it some what fixed my boss and i looked under it and he is big on motors and stuff like that and he helped me tighten the hose clamp down some more and it seems to be holding preasure now i just have to fix the tem sending unit
