single black white wire under hood by brake booster

ok i am conused

on my 91 2wd pickup there is a small single black with white stripe wire by the brake booster and by the a/c and uel pump relays and it has a round plastic plug end on it and it comes out to the main engine harness there and des not plug into anything

what is it for?

hopefully cruise because it does not work in mine

or maybe it is hood light ground ??

but it has no ground in it with the tester...

hmm

Re: single black white wire under hood by brake booster

Black and white is a ground wire. Hood light usualy grounds too the hood and would just have an orange wire for power. Also they are usualy on the right side of the hood. I assume because that is where the dipsticks are located.

But if that wire has no ground then make sure it also does not have power and then ground it. Maybe your cruise would then work. You could also see if your cruise has a black/white wire and check continuity. B/W is also for the neutral safety switch and speed buffer

i don't remember what color it is but there is a test wire over behind the booster so you can test for power to your fuel pump and it has a funny end on it that sounds like what your talking about

I thought that one was usualy red. But that one would be easy enough to find out because it comes right off the relay and his wire is close too the relay location.
