Re: Remove Steering Wheel?
Ya, a rubber mallet, tap it around the two sections on the steering wheel.
Or,remove all the torx head screws around the center of the wheel under the horn button if all you need is to get access too something like the HVAC etc.... Buy a puller, they are cheap! |

Re: Remove Steering Wheel?
In a pinch I have tapped on the shaft while a helper pulled on both sides of the wheel evenly. But that would mostly happen out at the wrcker on sh!t I did not care about

Re: Remove Steering Wheel?
have a friend pull on steering wheel you can than tap the center shaft but leave the nut on at the top of shaft so you dont mess up threads on shaft it should just pop off hope this helps.

most of the interior is 9/32 and 10mm, gauge cluster is 7/32 seats are 15mm, the fenders are 13mm, bed i think is 15mm, but i got new bolts and they are now 17mm Last edited by Golana : 07-16-2008 at 01:51 PM. |

Just did this tonight, I used a 21mm on the nut.
Used a puller I got from Advance Auto for $6.99, works awesome. |

Re: Remove Steering Wheel?
get a puller
they are dirt cheap you are only risking screwing up the column especially the threads of the shaft omg.. you will need a lock plate compressor tool also anyways so get one of those as well also dirt cheap i have to pull wheels and plates all the time very offten i invested in these dirt cheap tools over a decade ago i have to work on other ppls vehicles so there is no way i am doing it the redneck retarded way too much reponsibility and risk i wouldnt even do that on my own stuff good luck |
