Re: remote start on a tbi 4.3 v6?
Absolutely.
I've installed them on several different S10 pickups and Blazers from the late '80's to the mid '90's. As long as it's fuel injected, regardles of fuel injection type, you're good to go. |

you can but its not safe to. if you forget it in gear and try to start it it will take off and hit whatever is in the way

Re: remote start on a tbi 4.3 v6?
okay so as long as i leave it out of gear and the E brake on casue i never leave mine in gear unless im on a hill and the only hills around here is the store hill i stop on.. but as long as i leave it in neutral and e brake on its possible they hard to install..

Re: remote start on a tbi 4.3 v6?
Yep..I put one in my 1999 S-10 (4 cyl 5 speed) when I had it.
You HAVE to remember to leave it in neutral and set the parking brake. If not, you'll be chasing it down the street, retrieving it from your neighbor's yard, etc... |

Re: remote start on a tbi 4.3 v6?
Cept for whats been said about a stick, yes.
[They won't install one in a stick car/truck, gotta do it yourself. Legal issues ya know.] Only other hitch would be does it start up fine in the cold? I think most of them systems will only try 2-3 times. |

Re: remote start on a tbi 4.3 v6?
Clifford and Compustar make great systems for manuals, None of the set up crap in the "autostart" brands. As long as the truck is in neutral and the E-brake is on it will start

Re: remote start on a tbi 4.3 v6?
what do you have to do with manual S10, cause wouldnt the switch on the clutch foul it up, or do you have to bypass it? I cant crank mine in neutral without the clutch pressed.

Re: remote start on a tbi 4.3 v6?
On the clutch switch, Id hook up a toggle switch to it, to have it bypassed for remote start and normal start. That way you can disable that function for someone who doesn’t drive it often. They forget, leave in 1st and off it goes.
